It's definitely a sign that you're getting older when you turn on the radio or log onto a website to discover that yet another famous person who shaped your life into what you are today has sadly passed away. It's tragic as a little pocket of your own life seems to expire with them. That happened today with the news that disco queen Donna Summer had died at the far-too-young age of 63 at the hands of that ruthless disease called cancer. The loudspeakers in disco heaven will be bumping tonight and for many moons to come with the pulsating high beats per minute sounds of the late great Donna and even...

The weather may have been a bit overcast and the seas may have been a bit choppy but nothing was going to spoil the excitement, adventure and fun we've just had on the first ever Create And Craft Cruise. It was fabulous! Leonie, Shaun and myself have been talking about it for months so it was wonderful to finally have our cases packed, our crafty bits and pieces at the ready and head off to Hull to catch the Ocean Countess last week. Anchors away!
The idea of the cruise was to spend four days bobbing along on the ocean waves (and boy, did they bob!) as we headed for Amsterdam and then onto...

For months and months and months I have been bursting to tell everyone my crafty news and finally I am able to let the creative little cat out of the bag. I have created my own range of crafty goodies and am set to launch the first ever A-May-Zing (hope you like the name!) CD-Rom called All Kinds Of Everything....where else but on the fabulous Create And Craft! Lots of people have been asking me for the dates so here they are - 9pm and 11pm on Create And Craft on Thursday 19th April (yes, in the evening so if you're a Freeviewer then watch online at www.createandcraft.tv as the A-May-Zing shows...

My name is Nigel May and I totally love Stephanie Weightman. There, I've said it. Love love love her. If there was an addiction group for Steph-aholics (would it be called Weight-man Watchers I have to wonder?) then I would be there, front row, holding my hand in the air and swearing out loud about how fabulous I think she is.
My apologies to anyone who regularly reads this blog who doesn't know who Steph is. But this blog is dedicated to the woman who has been my TV wife/my inspiration/my soulmate and my true friend ever since the day she walked into Create And Craft TV Towers a few years...

I always knew that Brazil was famed for its beautiful sun-kissed beaches, a colourful, lively party-time atmosphere and a rich swirl of samba dancing and bossa-nova music, but I don't think any preconceived notions of what to expect in the land of carnivals and coffee beans could have prepared me for just how much I have fallen for this incredible country on my recent jaunt there. It was lush, rich, vast, impressive, sexy, heated, bright, beautiful and a thousand other descriptive words which could fill this blog and beyond.
Our journey started, after three flights and 35 hours of travel...

I have always been a touch obsessed with the wonderful world of mystery. If there has ever been a bit of sleuthing to be done then I've always been more than happy to whip on my imaginary deerstalker and gaze through a huge pretend magnifying glass to track down the clues in order for justice to prevail.
I think my love of playing the amateur sleuth started when I was an inquisitive nipper. If I wasn’t watching the ultimate guess-the-murderer sleuth show, Whodunnit?, on the telly I had my head buried in a book living the adventures and crime-solving ways of Frank and Joe Hardy. To me, at the tender...

Another year draws to a close and seeing as this is the first year I've actually had a bloggable website it seems only right that I should take a brief blog meander back through the year that was 2011 to see what is was all about for me. In the big wide world it was all about the royal union of Wills & Kate, the craziness of Lady Gaga and the gloss of all things Essex, but on a personal level life has trotted along nicely, moving in the right direction for the most part and has laid the foundations for what I hope will be a cracking 2012.
The year started with the announcement that...

You can always tell when you're suddenly careering full pelt towards Christmas. The X Factor winner has been announced, travel agent windows are jam-packed with promises of 'summer sun to escape the winter blues' and we're all reaching for our DVD copy of The Muppet Christmas Carol to watch time and time again (the best Christmas movie in my humble opinion - I may not be a film guru on the scale of Jonathan Ross or Claudia Winkleman but even I know that no festive fun beats Kermit, Miss Piggy and co!). Christmas is definitely one of the most magical times of the year and on a personal level - I love...

One of the things that is looked forward to with great anticipation and excitement each year at Ideal World and Create & Craft has to be the making of our Christmas song. I think it's only the third year we've done it (unless my ever-aging mind is getting somewhat forgetful) but it is definitely something which we all look forward to. For the last couple of years the powers that be at shopping telly HQ have had all of us presenters terrified as we were herded one-by-one into the sound booth to 'record' our vocals. It's alright for the likes of ex-West-End-Wendy, the lovely Lottie Mayor, to stand...

I'm just back from three days of chitting and chatting, meeting and greeting loads of lovely people at the Hobbycraft Event at Birmingham's NEC and I have to say that even though I came back, as ever, with a throat drier than a rusk and croakier than a swamp full of toads, it is an event I always look forward to and always totally adore.
What's not to like? Firstly I get to spend hours and hours meeting people who love watching Create & Craft. What could be better than that? As much as I love staring at a line-up of cameramen every day (and yes, some of the camera ops are women, but I'm using...
