The Joy Of Writing

Two weeks ago I self-published my first ever novel. Called TRINITY it's a page-turning romp about three close female friends who share their break-ups, their make-ups, their breakdowns and their put-downs all dressed in some of the best clothes a girl can buy and while jetting off to sun-drenched exotic locations around the world. It's pure escapism and if you're a fan of those blockbusters I adore - the ones so expertly written by the likes of Jackie Collins, Judith Krantz and Shirley Conran then maybe you'll like my first story too. I hope so. It has been a real labour of love.   Writing...

Poppy-licious!

Hello everyone - it's time for another burst of flowery glory to brighten our day. Isn't it nice that finally the sun seems to be out and shining beautifully overhead - long may it continue!   The inspiration for this card is my Blooming A-May-Zing CD-Rom and I have decided to pick one of my favourite flowers - the poppy - to create a joyful card. Even though most people think of poppies as a flower to be used purely for Remembrance Cards in November I truly believe they are perfect for a 'just because' all year round - aren't they the best cards to receive after all. I love finding a crafty...

The End Of A Magazine Era

It's funny how a bit of news dropping into your email inbox can make your brain fire into overdrive, but that is exactly what happened today when this sad little nugget of information fell before my eyes. "The decision to suspend publication has regrettably been made with effect from this week’s issue, published on Tuesday, 23 April." The magazine in question is more!, the spunky magazine for spunky young women who liked to live, laugh and love to the extreme.   Why should I be mulling over this piece of info? Well, despite the fact that I haven't been in the target age group for the magazine...

Spring Fever

It's time for another burst of crafty activity featuring all things A-May-Zing. Seeing as we've all been in an Easter frame of mind I thought I'd use a little something from the Blooming A-May-Zing CD-Rom as Easter is normally a time for beautiful blooms of flowers, lambs gambolling through the fields and a whole host of Easter eggs as the warm spring sunshine kisses our skin! This year, strangely enough, it's been all about waiting for the next snow flurry and wrapping up in winter woollens against the harsh winds - what's going on!?   Still, it's never too cold to make a decent card so here...

Truly Scrumptious Bavaria

If I was ever to leave the UK to go and live out my days in another land then I truly believe that Germany might be one of my top choices. It's a country that I hadn't really visited at all until about five years ago but from the first moment I set foot on German soil I have to say it's become one of my favourite destinations. I love the people, the language (not that I speak it at all - that's on my 'things to do' list), the incredible architecture, the taste bud-tickling food and the tiers of rich, diverse history. It's such a varied land and having sampled the delights of its capital, Berlin,...
