I have always been a touch obsessed with the wonderful world of mystery. If there has ever been a bit of sleuthing to be done then I've always been more than happy to whip on my imaginary deerstalker and gaze through a huge pretend magnifying glass to track down the clues in order for justice to prevail.
I think my love of playing the amateur sleuth started when I was an inquisitive nipper. If I wasn’t watching the ultimate guess-the-murderer sleuth show, Whodunnit?, on the telly I had my head buried in a book living the adventures and crime-solving ways of Frank and Joe Hardy. To me, at the tender...

Another year draws to a close and seeing as this is the first year I've actually had a bloggable website it seems only right that I should take a brief blog meander back through the year that was 2011 to see what is was all about for me. In the big wide world it was all about the royal union of Wills & Kate, the craziness of Lady Gaga and the gloss of all things Essex, but on a personal level life has trotted along nicely, moving in the right direction for the most part and has laid the foundations for what I hope will be a cracking 2012.

You can always tell when you're suddenly careering full pelt towards Christmas. The X Factor winner has been announced, travel agent windows are jam-packed with promises of 'summer sun to escape the winter blues' and we're all reaching for our DVD copy of The Muppet Christmas Carol to watch time and time again (the best Christmas movie in my humble opinion - I may not be a film guru on the scale of Jonathan Ross or Claudia Winkleman but even I know that no festive fun beats Kermit, Miss Piggy and co!). Christmas is definitely one of the most magical times of the year and on a personal level - I love...

One of the things that is looked forward to with great anticipation and excitement each year at Ideal World and Create & Craft has to be the making of our Christmas song. I think it's only the third year we've done it (unless my ever-aging mind is getting somewhat forgetful) but it is definitely something which we all look forward to. For the last couple of years the powers that be at shopping telly HQ have had all of us presenters terrified as we were herded one-by-one into the sound booth to 'record' our vocals. It's alright for the likes of ex-West-End-Wendy, the lovely Lottie Mayor, to stand...

I'm just back from three days of chitting and chatting, meeting and greeting loads of lovely people at the Hobbycraft Event at Birmingham's NEC and I have to say that even though I came back, as ever, with a throat drier than a rusk and croakier than a swamp full of toads, it is an event I always look forward to and always totally adore.
What's not to like? Firstly I get to spend hours and hours meeting people who love watching Create & Craft. What could be better than that? As much as I love staring at a line-up of cameramen every day (and yes, some of the camera ops are women, but I'm using...
